honestly, getting old does not scare me, its getting
old and old fashioned that scares me.
It has alot to do with my dad, but he doesn't believe in alot of women's "rights" these days because of how he was raised to believe how women behave. For instance, I'm not allowed to wear jewelry or pants ( with him) or makeup. And he has a hard time adapting to this ever changing world. He's 60. My mom is his polar opposite, the really kind 60's mommy type. She has realized that those who cant adapt die.
he is the sad owner of 5 failed businesses.
I want to make sure I'm that old lady that young people can talk to because I'm not stuck in my generation. Those people are so rare, they tend to be the charismatic ones. I'm pretty sure we all have grandparents that forgot it's 2006.
I guess another thing that would make me fear getting old is getting destitute. I want to have something very important to do.
That's how I want to live my life. I absolutely would not mind getting famous, because I dont want to leave this earth a nobody to many.
that's all. I just want life to be good when I get old, If I'm that Lucky that is.

I find it refreshing to age each year. Sure, life is hard at times, but I would NOT want to be a teenager and go through those years again. I will grow old gracefully! And to me, with age comes wisdom....
What an honor it will be to grow older and look back on my life's accomplishments, mistakes and everything else. Because I will be able to be more compassionate towards others and can help them because I've been there and done that. I think it's a great thing. Sure, the deteorating of your body isn't so grand, but if you keep yourself healthy, then hopefully you won't have much to worry about.

Age doesn't matter so long as you are happy in the present time. There is nothing we can do to prevent aging or dying. We can just do whatever we can to make the present time a good one. And, I'm not afraid of growing old, unless I had to do it without my husband, and that's an entirely different story.

I'm afraid of getting old because I don't want to grow up and obtain my own responsibilities and have a career and I'm afraid of getting an "old" look.

I really haven't thought about about it, but I guess I would say I'm not. I don't know why not. I just never worry about gray hair, lines under the eyes, etc,.
I guess you are as only old as you feel. Someday's I feel very old, others I feel very young.
Oh, and another thing, it maybe because a lot of people have told me I don't look my age. They say I look a lot younger!

I not looking forward to growing older...except for the fact that I am closer to going to heaven.
Otherwise, most of afraid of.....loneliness, lots of people you know dying, less mobile physically, expensive drug bills and popping too many pills, not looking as pretty, loosing independence, being bored, living in a nursing home, being abandoned, loosing control of eliminations.
having to depend on someone else too often.
That's one reason we need to be considerate of older or disabled people. Be concerned about them and take time for them....
They have many issues to deal with.

I think growing old is going to be a wonderful experience. Its a natural part of life, one that all of us should have before we die. Im not afraid of aging one bit. I dont think anyone should be, because it will happen anyway, and you might as well beable to enjoy it.

I'm not really afraid of getting old, but I'm in my early twenties and noticing small lines near my eyes. And I am NOT happy about THAT.
