Not when you are hiking or using your body's energy.

Depends on the destination. When vacationing, I find the trip there always seems to go faster since I am full of energy and anticipation. On the way back, I am tired and just want to be home and it seems to take forever.

I suppose if the journey is work, it would work the other way since being home would be the preferrence in most cases.

You obviously don't live on Long Island. The return to this place is endless; especially at the end of a holiday. Everyplace you go you have to go around NY City.

well, usually when people go somewhere they go on vacation and can't wait to get away, thus in turn makes the ride there, LONG.

relaxing and having fun while away gives a needed rest...your ready to get back to things, so the ride seems to take LESS time.

(best way I could explain it!)

Your body recognizes the landmarks on the way back as opposed to on the way there.
