Yes, soccer cleats are designed espacially for performance. Cleats mean nothing in baseball except for comfort and maybe speed, i dunno. Soccer cleats generalyy are made with special leather that makes the touch on the ball better. Also, many cleats, like adidas, add vamps in the shoes to help with curve and put their laces to the side for a cleaner kicking area. Also, they have heel counters, which help maximize comfort and don't put pressure on your heel. It also helps for stability. Meanwhile, Puma and Nike have both come out with cleats (the v 1.06 and Vapors, respectively) that weigh about 7 ounces. These are made especially for forwards, since these cleats put major emphasis on touch and speed. Also, they are all usually made out of different material, in order to be "different" from other companies and to show that their cleat emphasizes something more by using that material. Baseball cleats don't really focus on any of those.
Hope this helps.

If you are speaking on a proffesional level, the difference is that baseball cleats have metal spikes where as soccer cleats do not. There is more chance of injury in soccer. But, if you are speaking for Little Leagues baseball then there is no difference. Spikes are usually not allowed until Babe Ruth League or High School.
