That depends on how old you are.

If you are under 30, wait at least 2 years before becoming pregnant.

People change a lot in their 20's. If you can stay married for two years, that at least shows some level of stability. If you get pregnant right away and then one or both of you change during your 20's, guess what - you're connected with him FOREVER, even if you don't like him at all anymore. It's not fair to your child to be born into an unstable home.

If you are older 30, hopefully you are mature and settled enough to know the answer for yourself.

I say if your in your mid to late 20s what at least 3 years or more. If in your early to mid 30s. I say a year in a half to 2. Kids can put stress on a young married couple!

that is your personal decision and your personal body,
however...
depends on you and your husbands' age, your financial resources, and of course your desire to have children.
My own parents waited three years after they were married to have their first child, and then three years after that to have their second child (me). But I've heard that you should try to put two years between each child, so that each child gets love and attention...
women are having children later and later nowadays, but the risk of Downs syndrome and other problems peaks after the age of 40, so optimally- if you want your kids to grow up and leave the house at what is considered a "normal" time for most- do it at peak fertility- late 20s- early 30s. any later than that is risky and uncertain. But the decision to have a child requires years of cooperation, love, commitment, and $$$...should not be taken lightly.

As long as you can humanly stand it, until you've had about as much fun in life as you can ever imagine having. I'm talking you have cash, cash, cash in the bank, and have been to Hawaii several times, and on cruises, and Paris maybe, and fur coats and a couple of Mercedes in the garage, then you can think about having kids. Because once you do, theres no more money, no time, no fun, no peace again ever.

You should wait until you are both ready and feel financially stable enough to take on the responsibility of children. I generally think that waiting until you're done with school/college is a good idea.

I have been married for two years but we dont have kids yet. We just arent ready. We both want to see the world and have just us time. It all depends on how you feel about it, no one can answer that question better than you can.

Well hell...Your supposed to wait? LOL!! I had 2 children and was 5 months pregnant on my wedding day. At least you waited. I don't regret it, but it would have been nice to get a little tipsy and dance the night away at my reception. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, and good luck in your future.

I say wait awhile. Having a child changes your whole life and relationship with your partner. Iwould have as much fun as I could with them before I had a child. Go travel, have fun, it is so worth it. I waited 6 years to have a kid.
