I watched "Imagine me and you" with my girl last night. It was okay, kind of cheesy though, don't you guys think? lol

I liked the movie Gia better except that it's so depressing halfway though I can't finish watching it! Same with Boys Don't Cry and High Art! Why are most gay movies so sad and depressing? What's up with that?

Anyways, what's your favorite lesbian movie, and why? Can you give me a very brief review, I'd sure appreciate it ♥

Thank you lots :)

Two great ones we have seen lately:

The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love
The story of two girls, Randy and Evie. Randy is a low economic class lesbian living with other lesbians including her aunt. Evie is a wealthy, popular girl with a boyfriend. When Evie befriends Randy, what follows is a sweet, tender romance between the two... while Evie is cast away by her friends and Randy is chided by her family. The two don't care, though, because they are in love. And one of the girls is now on The L Word. Very sweet movie!

But I'm a Cheerleader
Megan (Natasha Lyonne) is a normal American girl who's one of the best cheerleaders on the team, along with having the captain of the football team as the perfect boyfriend. But there are some very unnormal things about her, including the fact that she doesn't like kissing her boyfriend, she has posters of girls in her locker and at home, she's a vegetarian, and she likes listening to Melissa Ethridge. Does this mean that the normal Megan may, in fact, be... a lesbian?!?! Concerned, her parents and friends send her to True Directions, a gay-gone-straight camp. As time passes before graduation, Megan start to come to terms with the fact that she's a lesbian. Absolutely hilarious!

secret,
Okay this is a joke, but it's just the way I see the movie:
ELEKTRA

It was so full of soft core pre-lesbian angst that I could hardly keep from laughing at the way it was done all the way through.

I could be totally off on this, but I just couldn't help seeing it.

Another movie that did a similar thing was The MAn Behind The Iron Mask with Leonardo DiCaprio. He was so Clintonesque that I was dying from laughter at many of the parts that he played the King. Leo just HAS to do a Movie about Bill Clinton, it would be classic. lol

Oh yeah, Lesbian movies. . . .. . . . .um . . . . . . . .. . . Monster? I never have gone to the trouble to seek one out.

WAIT! I really like the Barely Legal videos on Hustler.com, some of those were the best.

'Bound' is really hot with Gina Gershon & Jennifer Tilly, mmm. The ones you mentioned were amazing films, but yes, a little sad. 'Bound' is more of an action/drama movie. Emotional, but not as intense.

Here's a really campy one under the "cheesy horror flick" category, but hey I liked it. Check out 'Sick Girl' by Lucky McKee. And it's only an hour, so even if you don't like it, you haven't invested too much time. *smile*

A few more:
-Better Than Chocolate - cute & quirky

-If These Walls Could Talk 2 - Three stories about lesbians in different time periods, one is sad, another emotional, another joyful. Make sure to get #2. #1 is on a completely separate topic

Enjoy!

I really liked "Saving Face" it's a great mix of Comedy, Drama and Romance .

plus it has something for everyone.

A Chinese-American lesbian surgeon, living in Manhattan, is shocked when her single mother shows up on her doorstep pregnant. To help her mom save face and avoid the taboo in the Chinese community of an unmarried woman pregnant, the doctor helps her mom find Mr. Right. Cultures clash in this film that explores culture shock.

Better than chocolate - girl meets girl - closeted girls mom moves in, transgender "i'm not a drag queen", hate crime and rebellion - has a happy tone and a great ending.
but i'm a cheerleader - extremly campy, but very very funny - it's about a cheerleader who gets sent to "true directions" to get "fixed" and be straight - insteasd she meets the love of her life.
bound - mob stlye movie with jennifer tilly (who needs a mute button) and Gina Gershon (OMG hot, in this movie) vs. the mob - very hot.
boys don't cry - but...you named that already

Bound. It's by the Wachowski brothers (the guys who did the Matrix). Girl falls for the repairwoman and together they fleece her mob accountant boyfriend. Very film noir. Awesome.

There are loads of good porn films out there:

try 'busty brenda's beaver bonanza...'

it counterpoints the surrealism of the underlying metaphor of the societal trampling of the sacred femine in perfect juxtaposition to the harsh reality of a titty flick
