I use to like watching American Idols, but then I found it boring. To me, the only good parts are the auditions, where many people make a fool of themselves.

Probably not - reality shows don't last forever and ever.
As an analogy, Monday Night Football ended after 36 years on ABC (and who knows how much longer on ESPN).
