No. Friendship does have rules and regulations of a sort. People talk about friendship without really understanding it. You can follow a code that would allow you to lay down your life for your friend's benefit while the same code would require you to turn that same friend over to police for committing a crime.
Not only friendship, but other types of relationships have rules. In American culture, we have rules for conduct with our enemies though in the early days 'all was fair in love and war'. Pay attention to your culture and your ideas. They will help you to follow the rules your know. It is certainly possible and does occur that the "rules" are broken. Criminals for instance break the rules as it suites them though some have their own set of rules.
