That is a horrible analogy. Israel wasn't protecting their border moron, they were trying to get their soldiers back that were taken. If the US is in IMMINENT DANGER, I say attempt a diplomatic approach, and if that doesn't work, show them why we are the only superpower left. If Venezuela and their Psycho dictator Hugo Chavez kidnapped americans, I say we damn well better attack. Dont misconstrue what Israel did. Making a statement like that does one of two things, shows your prejudice against israel and your love for terrorism, or your complete ineptitude and lack of any real knowledge on the situation.
Isn't what you are suggesting the very same thing that the White House is now being criticized for in regards to 9/11? All we hear is why didn't we stop them from attacking us, we should have taken them out first. But now, when it isn't terrorism against the US, we have to wait until we are attacked to defend ourselves? What a double standard How many Americans must die before we can attack? 50? 100? 500? 1000? 10,000? What is the human life price tag to be able to defend ourselves.
And by the way Israel was attacked before they entered Lebanon, and four of their soldiers were kidnapped. So get your facts straight before you criticize on a world stage like this pal.

Yes my friend it is ok and it is called war.And when wars are fought it is often if not always forgotten who was right or wrong in the first place. The sad thing is that today it is percieved as "ok" to resolve conflicts by the phisical destruction of your opponent. And when you consider the fact that religion is involved as well it makes you wonder how much has humanity progressed over the millenia. Not much Im afraid.
PS: About the "moron-answer"-the only moron here is the one that thinks Israel attacked over a couple of soldiers.I can not imagine how silly naive and unexpirienced you must be to believe in such things......

Good question. I don't think the USA can attack Mexico because Mexico is not a threat militarily to the USA. Hezbollah was a threat to Israels borders giving her the right (at least in Israel's eyes) to attack Hezbollah.

If its factual... the excuse is invalid if its not in fact true.
Preemptive attack is valid in the case of terrorism though.
Big difference, Hezbola is a defacto part of the gov of lebanon and its valid to attack at least the south part of it per hezbola's attack on Israel (by virtue of kidnapping soldiers).

Well I really have got to agree with you here, I mean, the situations are SO similar!! I mean, Israel is defending itself against people who want to take it over, and who are continually resorting to violence. Also they have factions attacking one another in the streets...I mean, that is just like America!! What with all the illegal immigrants stampeding over the border to forcefully....take the jobs Americans don't want to do. THOSE BASTARDS! Oh yeah, call the troops out of Iraq, guys, we're taking out Mexico next!!
I'm being sarcastic...dumb question.

I believe we should protect our borders and no it is not OK to go inside another countries borders then we are in the wrong and they have the right to protect there property just as well as we do. If they cross our borders then yes we have the right to defend them.

In terms of International Law, not unless there is an "imminent threat." U.S. policy is that we can and will defend ourselves by attacking first if there is an imminent threat. That's also why you heard our President saying "imminent threat" all the time leading up to Iraq.
Question is: What constitutes an imminent threat? and who is in a position to enforce International Law against us?

America and Mexico are friends.
Lebanon and palestine are enemies to Israel.
As well as Syria and Iran, who are enemies too.
:)
Israel is defending itself, and it sure is working.
Since Israel gained the ' GOLAN HEIGHTS' Syria hasn't been attacking Israeli villages and towns.
Get it or must I go on and on ?

Attacking another country is never defending your own. Bush and his ultra-conservative brainless right winger supporters have redefined the English language so that killing others sounds like you are promoting peace. It isn't.

If there is absolute proof and and a reason, yes. You can't just attack a country because you think they are going to attack us.
