5'5" at 12? Wow, that's pretty tall! Heck no you are not chubby! That's a nice weight/height. Honey don't hide yourself - be who you are and love yourself. Hey i've a whole pizza many a times! The best thing is to eat 5 small meals a day. Try some yougurt and then maybe some veggies/fruit, a handful of raw almonds will fill you up and they're good for you! Drink as much water as you can handle! It's real good for your complextion too! Walking I've found is the best exercise for me. And it works on the thighs big time! Clears your mind too! My daughter is 10 and kinda on the heavy side. But she still loves herself and is happy! Nowadays it's hard because of the all the hormones they inject into animals for faster growth so they can sell them easier and quicker!!! Not too mention all the saturated and trans fat in food!
Just be happy with you!!!! Good Luck

Believe it or not, it comes from will power. People DO become addicted to carbohydrates. That's why we LOOOVE burgers, fries, sodas, pizza, tacos, etc. Look at little kids! What do they love to eat? The same thing! We need to instill some willpower so we can lose the junk and intake water, salads (with fat free dressing!), veggies, fruits, etc. I was off soda for almost a year, but i fell off. My body craved it, for some reason, so i bought one 2 months ago. It tasted sooo good, compared to the bland water i was always buying. I bought another, and another, and now i can't stop drinking soda. I need to lose the soda, for good this time.
I need to exercise more often, and start eating the foods that are good for me. I am going to start eating lots of celery. It is the best diet food, because of all the chewing you do to eat it, you burn the most calories. Why don't you do it, too?
Good luck!

don't buy the junk. determine to eat healthy snacks like apples, carrots, low fat yogurt. You are going through what I call the pudgy stage . .Try going up 2 stairs at a time for your thighs, and walk. I am an overweight adult and can tell you it is easier to put on then take off. Don't obsess abaout your weight, just determine to make healthy choices for today, one day at a time. In 2 years I sure you will have a lovely shape. No you are not too heavy.

I don't think your weight is really a problem. I was probably about that height and weight at that age...I'm 5'9" now. But you'll probably want to try getting junk food out of your reach and replace it with some good fruits and veggies. After school you could take a walk around your neighborhood or ride your bike. Tell your parents your concerns and have them help you. Maybe they'll want to walk with you. You could also ask them to make a doctors appointment for you and talk to your doctor about good eathing habbits and exercise.
Good Luck, Sweety. : )

You should eat healthier, but there's no real cause for concern. 118lb's with that height in no way it makes you "fat", you really can't lose much more because you'll be in the danger zone for too LITTLE weight. I wouldn't worry about it, just lay off the junk food and there's a chance you'll lose a few pounds anyway.

WILLPOWER!!!
good luck with this, obesity is everywhere, and if you're not happy with yourself then you're going to do things to destroy it, get in an exercise group, go out with some friends and jog, quit buying junk food, it not only make you gain weight, but also causes alot more health problems you can't see on the outside.

the south beach diet is a great way to reprogram your appetites. the first 2 weeks will do it. i don't reccommend any diet for extended periods of time, but this is more of a lifestyle change. it also incorporates exercise into everyday life. you need to retrain your body off junkfood and onto healthy snacks and meals. plus drinking 1 1/2 litres of water a day is a great start.

substitution... go out and buy trail mix, banana chips, and nuts. also, drink LOTS of water. helps to fill you up, is healthy for your body, and has 0 calories. If you still think your not where you want to be, then try adding some sports to your routine. I think that everyone goes through what you are at that age. It WILL pass. Good Luck.

Get rid of all the junk food in your house. Try to get your parents in on this too. Join a gym and try to get their AT LEAST once a week.

Self control. But I don't think that 118 is too big for 5'5''. Talk to your doctor.
