What is really wrong with it? You might not want to let her/him date one, but can you really stop them?
Everyone's first instinct is no way, but why? They don't really know those people for who they really are, all they are doing is stereotyping gangbangers, because they see stuff on TV, well it is not always like that.

I think that in order to prohibit your child from dating a gangbanger/Thug it would mean passing unfair judgements about people. Someone who listens to rap and has baggy clothes does not make one a thug. Now if there is just cause that it could be an unsafe situation- now that is different...but little preppy kids rape, do drugs, and worse too! Its just wrong to label people without just cause.

How old is the 'kid' in question? If she is over the age of 18 obviously there is nothing to do. If she is under the age of 18 than the answer should be an obvious and resounding NO.
The difficult part is that if the kid in question is datting this guy, then stopping her will only make her want to date him more. Remember Romeo and Juliet?

Its hard to be in a situation like that, my aunts daughter is dating a Bad Boy u call it & she went mad, never let her out, but she just rebelled, because her mum hated him, she loved him, i think if my aunt left it they would of split up long ago, however due to my aunts obsession on splitting them up, shes moved out living with him, on drugs & doing god knows wit, if she left her, shed still be at home & at least shed know where her daughter was everynite.

Sometimes parents really have no control who their child decides to date. I would hope that I raised my child to have a good head on their shoulders and pick someone to date who has the same faith and morals that I will teach them.
