A good place to start would be locally. Churches and schools are well knowmto have craft fairs. Depending on the size and space of the fair determines the price. You should check your local resources to find out which ones are most popular. A popular or annual one would be one that consists of over 100 artist/craftsman. Many of these have specific rules when selling that it actually has to be hand-made and not part of a marketing pyramid. Another good place would be your local flea-market. If you are looking for marketing ideas try locally but at the same time consider making business cards and perhaps try a free blog that gives you the potential of selling online in the future. You can always just get a doman, webhosting, ecommerce service and start putting your crafts up for sale, however a good plan or starting out with a low overhead and then eventually expanding makes more sense. Would it really be worth it to you if you spent all your money advertising and in overhead than cash coming in? Start small, then expand :)

Crafts are a great seller at yard sales. Your community might even hold an indoor sale at the local municipal building, school cafeteria etc. This way you also get to see who is buying them and their faces when they find that perfect something. I do crafts, and have sold many of my pieces at yard sales. The lady who purchased my stuff, we became friends and 5 years later, I go to her house and see my crafts. It is a great feeling to know someone actually enjoys them.

Try to hook up with a local candle or craft store,Not a franchise type,Talk to the owner and tell him or her they can have a portion of the sales. They can put them out on display for you.I have seen local crafts stores do this all the time.

Make a blog! Show your stuff....do money orders only until the site takes off and then you can add paypal and accept credit cards!
A good place to start are the free blog sites. Or you can make a free webpage to post your info!
Good luck!
