well you need to look at a lot of other cities in the united states parts of cal.Florida /Texas etc all could have the same disaster as new Orleans.most peoples feel so lucky knowing this right .what your problem.peoples live near the sea all over the world it's not ther fault for the bad weather that may or may not come and destroy their lives .but when it come we the peoples in a free nation like the USA expect our dam government to help with out all the politics and racism.where is your humanity for the peoples of the USA .maybe you left them over in Lebanon with Hezbollah.you would want the usa to help rebuild lebanon but not your own country.dam idiots10

Pretty low on the broad world scale. I tend to agree with your clear logic.
With regard to Katrina and other coastal disasters: The govt. really needs to eliminate flood insurance for those choosing to consciously live in harms way. Let the market take its course. Don't encourage poor decisions.

A terrible tragedy. My problem with Katrina are the politics that came with it. The finger pointing, media bashing and drawing the race card again.

While Katrina was unfortunate, and I have empathy for the people who have suffered, it was merely a minor nuisance in the global scheme of things.

I would rate it category 5 :P
no but seriously, the whole katrina thing is stupid. Here in florida we get horribly destructive hurricanes EVERY year, and nobody cares. Then all of a sudden New Orleans gets one hurricane, and its a nationwide disaster. Screw you New Orleans.
