Go to a jewelry store.
Each store charges differently.
Usually a written appraisal is about $100

any reputable jewelry shop will do appraisals or will refer you to an appraiser. Its arround $100.

some jewelry stores and pawn shops will often do them for free. may not be 100% accurate but you'll get a good idea.

Most jewelers, if you do business with them, will chage you nothing or little. It depends where you live.
