I do actually, and I am ashamed at the crime they committed, but I do support them. Luckily, they are incarcerated a few thousands miles away from where I live, so no one really knows.

No. I have a good friend in prison though. I am not ashamed to know him, he made a mistake and is dealing with it now. He is the same person that I have always loved and he needs all the support he can get!

I had a brother who was in jail once and no.....not ashamed at all! but even though in my heart I feel as if in life we ALL make mistakes......... and we should support are family, but thinking about it from another angle - I DO think I would be ashamed if the reason they were in jail had something to do with being a pedophile.

Yes, my baby brother is in county jail awaiting sentencing.
HELL NO, I'm not ashamed of him, he's my baby brother, the same wonderful, sweet, bright boy who used to sneak me peanut butter and jelly sandwiches when I was "in my room" because I'd screwed up.
The thing very few people understand is that it only takes a single moment of rage, stupidity, carelessness or desperation to become a felon.

no relatives in jail, although i had to spend the night in jail and I wasn't ashamed of myself, so I don't think I would be ashamed of a family member, unless they were a rapist or child molester, just depends on the crime i guess

My mom went to prison when I was a freshmen in High School. I wouldn't even talk about her when she was in there. People that did know judged me because of her mistakes.
