It relates to the days when you used to put carbon paper between each copy of paper so that when you typed the letter on a typewriter, you would make multiple copies. Boy.. its so old fashioned now that I think about it.

It means "Carbon Copy" from back in the days before copy machines and personal computers. You put a piece of carbon paper between 2 sheets of typing paper and typed away. The carbon was transferred to the second piece of paper making a copy.

CC= Carbon Copy....means another person is getting the same letter/email as you are :)

Carbon copy - ie, the people listed there have received an exact copy of that letter.

CC=carbon copy. If you don't mind the other people seeing to whom else the same email has been sent than use the same address line for all separated by semicolon. Example: qqq@aaa.com;ddd@www.com;ert@wer.com it does the same as CC but the recipient will know all the other peoples address as well!

it stands for carbon copy. back in the 1970s when you want to make a copy of a letter to send to mutliple people you put a piece of carbon paper between paper in a typewriter.

You could also send it bcc, if you don't want one person to know that another person received a copy of the letter/email.

Carbon copy; notifying you that copies of that message have gone to those people.

BCC, Blind carbon copy are a list of people who received that message, but aren't notified of who else has received it.
