Wow! That sounds like a great thing to learn. What you are asking is, "How can I make my car lose traction in a turn?"

What a wonderful thing to train yourself to do.

So what happens to the motorcyclist coming around the turn while you are getting your drifting jollies?

Sheez.

Something that will help you to learn the mechanics of drifting is by playing racing sims. Forza on the X-box is a really good one. There are forums devoted to helping people set up their cars for drifting. Again this is just to help you get an idea of what drifting actually is. It is basically the same in a real car only real and somewhat dangerous (as if you cared). Find yourself an empty parking lot but make sure it has some islands in it. You want something to serve as a reference point. Everyone has different methods of drifting. One of the best by far is the inertia drift. Prior to heading into a turn you need to jerk your car in the wrong direction, that will throw your back end into the direction you eventually want to go in. Next quickly steer in the opposite direction and once again to actually take the turn (it takes some practice), this will keep your back end sliding and slingshot you around the corner. You need to be moving at a pretty good clip to get a good slide started and when you begin sliding make sure that you are feathering the gas.
Something that really helps with driving ability (while it may not look like it, you have to be a really good all around driver) are auto crosses. Local associations that set up racing courses in a parking lot, check those out to build confidence in your car and abilities.
Hope this helps. Make sure you read up on drifting and it may be helpful to buy or know someone who owns a police scanner.

As you round the corner, the tendency for most all drivers is to release the accelerator.
For drifting, you must keep your accelerator going. If you don't, you will slow down and possibly fish-tail. Keep on the gas, and accelerate through the turn.

Make sure your car has rear-wheel drive. Go to some vacant dusty road and plow into the corner and gas it.
