It is really hard to tell if India will ever overtake China because if you compare the GDP growth, China is growing twice as fast as China. Ofcourse there are some serious issues that China needs to resolve if they want to maintain this growth for a long term and to say that they wont resolve this issue at all and India will march ahead of China easily is not right. They have brains, they will think about it sooner or latter.
As far as India is concern, they need to get their act together. They need some serious repairs to be done in the government systems as well as judiciary systems. If any of these wings can be cleaned up completely, all other issues can be resolved.
