If you have XP, you can use help and support and key in "remote access". It will help you set it up and turn it on. Or.... you can invest in a 3rd party software like "mypc' or something - there's lots of them.

download realvnc from www.realvnc.com on both computers, then use one computer to connect to the other by using the IP address. Right click on vnc, select add new client, and type in IP address. <- this must be done by someone from the other side of the computer.

A remote desktop connection will allow you to access your computer from another computer if you know your comp's IP address.
