It doesn't. They work for the met office. The BBC pays the Met office to do the forcasts.

They have regional weather presenters, then national presenters and international presenters. I guess it'd be too long of a day to have one weather presenter do the lunchtime, evening and night news, even though they're never on air for more than three minutes a forecast, and they have to stay current - you never know what may come!

There's just not much else to talk about on British TV...The weather seems the most intersting subject. Because the weather doesn't change drastically either it is important to keep changing the presenters.

Because of the unique way they are funded.....with there never ending supply of tax payers money, (in other words...theft).
The BBC can therefor afford to pay sky high wages to people who wave there hands about in front of a blue screen.

Because even though we think all they do is read the news there is alot of other work to do as well while they're not on air. Therefore they need a load of people to work and cover shifts etc.

I agree. Also why do they have 2 people reading alternate lines on the news when one could do the job perfectly well. They are so good at wasting our licence money.

They all work for the Met office, not employed, as such, by the BBC.
