if your friend will let you do this you need to set up an account in outlook that will allow you to check your email on his computer. click on help to see how to setup a seperate account.

You can't. All your OE files are stored on your hard drive.
Though, if you use Outlook Express to manage a hotmail account, then you can just login to hotmail.
Anything else though, is not possible. At least not without remote desktop connection to your own computer. And that's not practical for just checking mail.

If all you want to do is check your e-mail and it's 'roadrunner' or some kind of cable..... you need to go setup an account - and put in your pop-server and you'll get your e-mail. If it's yahoo mail, you have to have a premium account.

You have to set up another email account on it.
goto TOOLS>EMAIL ACCOUNT and follow the prompts. Once you get it set up you have to export your mail files to the other pc, if it is small enough you can do it with a diskette otherwise you have to burn it to CD or email it to them......
