I wasnt bleeding anymore, just the brown stuff that comes when your period is ending, but I am not sure if women can get pregnant while they are on their period. Does anyone know?

I am not a child, I have been dating my boyfriend for six and a half years, I think marriage is over-rated for those of you who will have some witty comment about the length of time we have been together. Also I thought this site was for people who has questions, not people who has witty, sarcastic or just plain stupid remarks. I think only about three people answered my questions and I thank them. Everyone else can kiss my ***! :-)

The short answer is YES, if you don't know how your cycles work you must assume that you are fertile at any given time. Yes, you can get pregnant from sex had while on your period. The first day or two it would be exceedingly unlikely, but toward the end of your period that likelihood increases, particularly if you have short and/or unpredictable cycles.
If you're interested in taking the time to really learn how your body works, I strongly suggest reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. She'll explain WHY it's possible for a woman to get pregnant at the time you describe, plus how to know whether or not YOU could get pregnant then.

ok half of these people have no idea what they are talking about.. i am a nurse at a OBGYN office (gynecologist etc.) and you can become pregnant ANY time during your cycle(any time of the month) you just have a few days where you are more likely to get pregnant like when you ovulate. It is very very very possible to become pregnant any time while your on your period. just because you have already ovulated means nothing. We see women all the time that come in and say i dont understand how this happened i was on my period then.. we guess what sister your never 100% guarenteed to not get pregnant unless you have never had sex. Even if he pulls out, your on birth control (pill, shot or patch) doesnt matter so to answer your question YES you can get pregnant

You can get pregnant at any time, on any day, in any position and with anyone however, this is more likely to be during the middle of your cycle and not at the end of your period. Don't worry too much, just check it out and, ALWAYS use a condom (at least until you're married). If you go to your doctor and ask to be put on a contraceptive pill, you won't have to worry like this again. It's free.

I think the best time to become pregnant is the week before you get it, because of ovulation. The week after your period is a pretty unlikely time to become pregnant! I'm more worried about the fact that he's only your boyfriend.

There are times when you are not likely to get pregnant. BUT! due to the fact that women are not machines, ovulation can occur at any time even though it's not common. Consequently there is no time of the month when it is definitely "safe" to have unprotected sex. If you don't want to get pregnant ALWAYS use a condom.

Anytime you have sex, you run the risk of getting pregnant. Make sure you use protection all the time. In this case, it is unlikely that you would get pregnant, but not out of the realm of possibility.

You can get pregnant at ANY time of your cycle if you are not using protection. It's uncommon, but there have been cases of women becoming pregnant DURING their period.

If you are on a 28 day cycle, probably not. But you should always use some form of birth control anyway.
