I'm currently studying for the LSAT and I work part-time. I have this horrible habit of staying up late at night, like until 2 or 3am, but I'm not even studying during this time. Then I wake up around 7, and I work from 8am-1pm. My plan is usually to eat afterwards, then go study at the library. But somehow along the way, I get super sleepy, obviouosly from my lack of rest. Then I end up falling asleep ibn my car or in the library for a loooooong time. I hate this...its horrible. I know the obvious solution is to go to sleep sooner, and/or drink coffee. Does anyone know how I should force myself to go to sleep sooner at night? Do you guys have any other suggestions for staying awake so that I can study??? Please help me!!!

Cut the caffiene out of your diet, don't eat a few hours before bed and yes, go to bed sooner.

If you can't fall asleep within 15 minutes, get up and do something productive, or read a book. Try again in a half hour or until you start to feel drowsy.

If you're going to be awake you might as well study. Resist the need to cram, you'll retain nothing and it's not like you're losing any study time since you should be sleeping anyway. Reading's an active activity so it should help to make you drowsy.

Also consider chamomile tea before bed, or possibly a sleeping aid for a few days if nothing else works.

Well you need to go to sleep ealier and that is the only option..Are you partying? Or hanging out with friends? like what on earth are you doing staying up late, but you cant study? If you are stayig up that late and gettting no studying done then you obviously have no self control. Go to theropy and get a sleeping aid...

ask your doctor for provigil (modafinil). it's mostly prescibed for narcolepsy but has also been used for ADHD. it works super well in terms of helping you stay awake without the usual stimulant side effects. i used it twice and did not feel the least bit jittery or weird (i refuse to drink coffee for those reasons), and found that half a pill worked just as well as a whole pill. who knows if a doc will give it to you, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Quality sleep is more important than quantity, & what you want is the same, you perhaps try YOGAs there is an "AASAN" called "SHAVASAN" which helps you in relaxing, Sunlight is also a goodmidicine , coz it makes particular hormones function properly & you can get quality sleep

ask your doc for sleeping pills to help regulate your sleep cycle. be prepared to sleep the full 8 hours though. studying when you're tired out of your mind does no good.
