Go to Spain. If you are in the country for a while you will pick it up from the locals besides its a much more interesting way to learn the language

taking a class would b most helpfull, because if you try to just hang out with a spanish speaking friend well they will be speaking more slang then anything, i mean it is good to learn both, but you gotta learn the basics.... hope i helped ya! :o)

Total immersion or through classes. Either take some classes offered by a local community education center/community college or go buy the Rosetta Stone software.
