I had an expired driver's license. I only had $9. I needed a valid identification card to cash a check. So I got a State ID instead. I believe it is only fair that I can renew my driver's license here shortly without taking a driver's test. I'm afraid they are going to try to play it differently. Can anyone share with me their experiences, insights, or general advice? Thank you.

Did you have to take a Driver's test to get the ID? Probably not. So I'd count on taking the test when you go back. Unfortunately, it's not the DMV's problem that you had to cash the check.

I have already done my bitching today about the d.m.v. They make everything as hard as possible. I went today and it is gonna cost me $30 to get my license. I will have to bring more i.d. then humanly possible.
