Don't know the absolute correct definition but in the South West we would naturally think you mean American Indian (Native American). They are alive and well and supporting themselves. I work for them and think they are probably waiting to see what the terrorist will finally end up doing before they open up a few more casino's and remove some more money from the white man as payment for the land we stole from them. Yatahey!

They were brutally robbed of their lands and virtually exterminated by the white settlers.

But we don't talk about that because Americans have never done ANYTHING wrong and they just like going on and on and on about what the British did to the Irish Catholics, despite the fact that the Americans themselves did far worse to the Native Americans!!!!! Can you say hypocrisy?

They are still around all over the place. They simply have their own communities. I used to see them occasionally in northern Wisconsin. I have never seen one in Florida and this is supposed to be Seminole nation. I take that back. I have seen them at Seminole Hard Rock Casino. They must hang out in tight knit communities off the beaten path. They have a very good native american music show on community radio down here. Very good music. Spiritual.

He became a fallen down drunk because we took away more than his land and his people, we took away his dignity. We did this by subsidizing his way of life. We gave him something for nothing, something he didn't earn or work for, we took away his competitive spirit and a reason for living.

Suicide amongst these proud people is higher than any where else in society. His reason for living is no longer something he evolves into. He must now create his own reasons.

Having served in the Marine Corps, and served with many American Indians, I can say first hand, these people thrived in this environment. They probably didn't adjust as well as many others, because they were being taught the white man's way, which was strange to them. But, once they got a handle on it, they were as competitive as anyone. Many of them made careers of military life and did quite well. Others went back home and some of them didn't do nearly as well. They went back to the poverty of the reservation and the hand me outs from the government, and again some lost their way, because for many the booze took over.

Native Americans were killed into extinction during the Victorian age, as the "white man" ploughed mercilessly with their rail road expansions. It's a story not dissimilar to that of the Australians and the Aborigines.

I don't think they own casino's the Mafia do, and I never heard of a mob boss called, 'Little big eared rabbit'. They are around, peaceful soul's who wish to wage a war on the immigrants from Europe that spread disease amongst their ancestors. Not really, they are intelligent souls that know that their numbers are diminishing, their land sticken from Corporations and they know that a war is useless. Ask Columbus.
