In the small local papers there used to be an at home section where people would post about stuffing envelopes from your home and you would be sent all the materials and be paid per envelope. I am looking for some extra cash and was interested in this. Anyone know a website or phone number I can call to see about this opportunity?

This is a scam. Don't do it and definitely don't send any money.

ANY JOB AD THAT ASKS YOU TO SEND MONEY IS A SCAM.

See this link:

Here's an excerpt from the site:

"Envelope Stuffing: This long-running scam offers to pay $3 or $4 per envelope you address or stuff. You send the company money for your start-up kit of instructions and some materials. They promise to send you a list of companies that want you to do the work. What you actually get is a list of companies that either do not exist or do not pay people to stuff envelopes. Or you receive instructions on how you can place ads like the one you answered and get unsuspecting consumers to send you money."

There are a lot of "at-home" jobs you can find in the classifieds... but they are all scams. They continue to run because there's always a new crop of young people who don't realize it's a scam. Don't fall for it.

Sorry to say this but anytime someone wants you to send them money to work for them is not the way to go. It's not like the home party plans that want you to pay a fee for their starter kits. This is how the envelope stuffing people get rich! Also beware of any of the other work at home scams out there.Like assemble products at home etc. I would reort them to the BBB and do a search on the company anytime that you want to check a legit company out.I hope they listen to you and don't send them anymore money! I would call the number again and ask them the name of the company, the address and so forth. Make out like you are interested. When you get this info hang up the phone.

Don't waste your time with things likes this. I try'd many things from enveloope stuffing to assembling from home. I was scamed each and everytime.Untill I found the company I'm working for. I tapped in the real estate industry with no experience or a real estate license. I also work from home the hours I want and make a very good income. The office is in san diego and you can work from home or their office. Let me know if you want more information. MayraGarciaTorres@wlgdirect.com

These home stuffing services are a scam. Most of these are only in business for a short time (until they caught).
