First of all I totally disagree with the topic of your essay so I understand your dilemma. However, you can consider some of the following issues which may negatively affect your country:
-Would your country see any immediate returns on this investment? Many times a country will spend millions of dollars to improve infrastructure in order to host an international event, and the only benefit will be highlighting your country in the media, which may improve the tourism industry or encourage some foreign direct investment. This will improve the economy, but you won't see this improvement immediately.
-How would this affect crime in your country? Will there be a marked increase or decrease, as a result of the international presence?
-How will the new and improved infrastructure benefit South African citizens after the events are finished? Will it be considered a waste of valuable resources or will it enrich the lives of its citizens?
-How much is this venture going to cost South African citizens? I don't know what your tax system is like, but in North America, if the country is spending millions of dollars on a project, the money has to come from somewhere, and it is usually from our pockets. So you could probably analyse this from a cost point of view. This is the only real negative issue I see in this.
-Could this money have been better spent? For eg. why spend on sports when there is a health crisis (AIDS)?
On the whole I think this is a very positive and beneficial event for South Africa, and I am going to make sure that I am there in 2010.
Good luck on your essay.

Small pleasures look to teach you on.we could continuously dangle our heads that we've not even been in a position to qualify.i'm particular that fairly quickly,a similar destiny is searching ahead to the country in Hockey the position once upon a time we were reigning ultimate. Are we a group of losers or are we! Have an excellent Day.

maybe you can talk about the bad locations of the fields. YOu may also talk about how hot the weather is and how the players might not endure during the matches. YOu should also list some disadvantages of the quality of the fields.

I think a disadvantage factor could be the warm temperature u guys have there, but this is not so bad! I think it could be held there,I don't have nothing against it,though I don't think I'll travel so far to see it! u are so lucky!

too hot, too drastic of a climate change for a lot of the players, humid, maybe not enough space for a lot of people to attend, maybe that comparing it to Germany it does not meet a lot of the expectations and that maybe another place similar to Gemany should be its host.
