My husband and I are going to Paris for our 1 year wedding anniversary. Does anyone know of any good day trips or sites that have good trips listed? We are not looking for lavish flights to different countries or anything, just less then 10 hours total? Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for the help. Just want to clarify, we are there for 9 days and will be spending most of them in and around Paris seeing all of the fablous stuff. Just want to know if anyone knows of good out of town day trips, maybe even pre-organized - by train, bus etc? Vineyards, castles etc or sites that have these trips. Less than $150 each, thanks :)

If you're looking to not go too far, you can always check out Versailles. You can easily spend the whole day in the palace gardens and it is very romantic and mindblowing if you luck up and go when they've turned the fountains on. I believe it is no more than 1/2 an hour from Paris and all you have to do is catch the metro there. So it's a very cheap daytrip but a very beautiful one.

don't rent a car-walk.you will save a bundle of money there. as for a nice hotel, if you are in Luxembourg-i suggest you stay there, stay at the Andre Latin Hotel. it has affordable prices and will not make you go broke.for what to visit-that is so easy since i recently came from visiting Paris: the Notre Dame is free. the Eiffel Tower is gorgeous-wake up early since you will have to wait in line a while(13 or 15 euros per person-around 20 dollars per person).if you make arrangements so that you are there the 1st weekend of the month you get to see the Louvre and The Dorsey for free. Visit the Arc De Triumph, the Pantheon, the Luxembourg Palace/Castle, where Napoleon is buried, and of course Versailles. Get one or two day train passes and use them , also get a pass to the boats that take you up and down the river-it will save you money and energy in the end.i gave you all the tips that my family used while in Paris.

i go there every vacation and Paris has lots of great suburbs. I personally love the gardens of Versaille. But if u really just want to stay in Paris u have to climb the Arc De Triomphe.

Rent a car and visit the countryside - the villas and countyside surrounding Paris are beautiful, you get out of all the 'tourist' areas, the people are friendlier, and the food is cheaper.
Quick hint - learn a few simple phrases in french and try to speak them instead of asking everone if they speak english. People are alot more receptive if you try first.
