Yes reversal surgery is always an option, but you will only have a 20% chance (or something like that) for reversal. Check out this website...
http://www.epigee.org/guide/tl.html
It mentions IVF being an option rather than reversal surgery.
Good question by the way!

I think the ends of the tubes are burned with a cautery so it really is not like a knot can come loose.
After 10 years, do you want a tubal reversal? There is no guarantee that there is enough tube left to reconnect. The procedure will not be paid by insurance.

Okay, saying that your tubes are "tied" is a misnomer. Your fallopian tubes are cut and cauterized so that the eggs cannot pass thru to the uterus. There is no knot to come undone. The correct term is tubal ligation.
Why would you reverse the procedure? Why do you suddenly want to have kids? You had the procedure for a reason; think long and hard before attempting a "reconnection."

I dont think tubes can become untied because after surgery fibrous tissue occurs in the abdomen and so around the tubes. If you are considering reversal talk about it with your gyneacologist to weigh up the pros and cons.

Years ago I was told that because they were tied for such a long time the reversal might not be successful, plus any operation is costly these days. A good idea? Well you got them tied to prevent pregnancy, are you ready to complete your life under the fear of several pregnancies if that were to happen? Why not adopt, or marry a guy who already has kids.

Yes they can, they revised the procedure to burn the tubes so they couldn't be untied. I wouldn't recommend the procedure if you're older because it could be harmful to you and your child if your planning to get preg.
But if you want another baby, then go for it. It is your body after all.

Usually they are not just tied, but cut and burned. Spontaneous reconnection is VERY unlikely. Surgical reversal is sometimes possible. Whether it is a good idea or not depends on your individual circumstances.

Yes they can, but IVF would probably be the better way of conceiving.
