The wording on your question, I'd have to say "NO" as my answer. But is America a free country? I'd say to an extent we are, free to vote, free religion, free schools for both sexes, we have the freedom of choice on many many things like shows we watch on tv, or radio, newspapers we read, books we read, videos we rent, clothes we buy, shoes we wear, what we eat, Doctors we see, homes we rent/buy, cars we drive...etc there is so much freedom in America that we take for granted that other countries do not have. But along with all this freedom there are restrictions, like taxes we HAVE to pay not just federal and states taxes but we have food taxes and clothes taxes and non-perishables. When we vote, it's not Little Jimmy down the street we vote for but some John Doe in some form of government that most of the general public has never met and never will meet but we do get a choice in who we vote for. Same as we have our choice in Doctors, as long as he's listed on our APO that is. We have a choice of cars to drive, but you have to have a license, insurance, registration and with today's gas prices, a good paying job to fill the tank up.

definite and no. in assessment to international locations with the two no/little or no government like somalia and afghanistan, it would look as though the U. S. had much less freedom using fact we've greater rules. yet out financial opportunities supply us freedom that maximum in those failed states have not got. while in comparison with totalitarian governments like North Korea, we've heavily greater freedom in our each and on a daily basis lives, yet we are nonetheless chained to the social settlement that each and each democratic government has with this is human beings. finally, the question of notwithstanding if or not we are loose is in keeping with lots greater complicated components than only how lots it expenses to stay interior the U.S.

No. A) Many of our rights are taken away for petty reasons, by petty people. B)Many of the laws on the books are more to enforce common courtesy (which if people still had it, there would be no need for such laws). (i.e. it is usually city ordinance (law) to pick up after your dog if he 'goes' in public.....but if people had any sense of decency, before they walked away from that pile they would remember how pissed off they were last time they stepped into a pile.) C)Everything costs money, and time. And you usually need to fill out the proper forms.......
Then again, compared to other nations, we sort of have it made....

Of course we are as compared to many other countries, but if you are referring to the laws, etc. that govern us as a society, then I suppose some would think not. It is exactly those types of individuals that require fair governing, or we would be a society of total out of control barbarians!

You can persue your own religious beliefs, live where you want, with who, eat what you want, speak out about your leaders...
Try any of that in any Mid East country....

Absolutely not. When we are held prisoner in doctor's office waiting rooms and pay half our paychecks in prescription drugs, we are not free.
