Based upon the excerpt from the third of the three websites listed below...it is terminology associated with alcohol abuse.

Consider how Emotional Terrorism impacts and harms the entire family.

Terrorists use "sustained, clandestine violence."

§ "Clandestine" means something improper done in secret

§ Continuous state of anxiety, usually kept secret from those outside of the home (the Family Secret)

§ Anxiety can erupt in emotional, verbal, or physical violence without warning

§ Anxiety is also "sustained," it will go on until either the alcoholic gets help and changes his or her behavior, or the family simply can't take it any longer and leaves

Terrorists "murder" innocent people.

§ Emotional terrorists quite often murder the spirit and the soul of those closest to them

§ Manipulation, name-calling, guilt, and shame are effective missiles

§ Alcoholics have an uncanny—almost psychic—ability to zero in on their victim’s most sensitive and vulnerable spot, and then strike with a ruthless and merciless intensity

§ “Murder” attempts often linger long after the non-alcoholic leaves the relationship

§ Character Assassination in an effort to maintain control over the non-alcoholic

§ Alcoholics also murder themselves slowly by drinking

Terrorists "kidnap" others.

§ Emotional terrorists are very clever hostage takers

§ Use fear and guilt to hold the people close to them emotionally captive

§ “Kidnap" those nearby and force them to make up for their own lack

Terrorists use "bombs" to achieve their purpose.

§ Emotional terrorists also use emotional bombs to control those around them

o “"Emotional bomb:" Any attack that comes unexpectedly—or, "out of the blue"—forcing the non-alcoholic to run for cover

§ Emotional bombs are the alcoholic’s response to fears he or she is losing control over the non-alcoholic

§ Emotional bombs often put the non-alcoholic into “crisis mode,” and the non-alcoholic now reacts to avert seeming disaster

§ Emotional bombs are often duds, specifically designed to infuse fear and throw the non-alcoholic off balance. Occasionally a live bomb drops, causing the non-alcoholic to react as if every bomb were the real thing

§ Since the alcoholic (emotional terrorist) is unpredictable, the family lives each day "waiting for the other shoe to drop," not knowing whether it will be a soft slipper or steel-toed work boot

how does the answer "MARRIAGE" get a thumbs up, but an intelligent, well thought out answer gets a thumb down. Idiots. Hmm I wonder who gave marriage a thumbs up. Anyway, emotional terrorism to me is stripping a person of her self esteem and making her feel worthless. Rape. Playing mind games. Love = emotional terrorism sometimes.

Emotional terrorism is used against Americans every hour of every day, right here in America. It is used to keep the people in a constant state of fear. It is based on the idea that we need our government to save us from the evil ones worldwide that are supposedly threatening to take everything we have away. We are currently attacking foreign sovereign nation's because our government would have us believe that if we don't fight these innocent nations on their turf, then they will come here to our homeland to get us! Are most Americans buying it? Hook, Line, & Sinker!
