No. It is normal.
General guideline is:
Crawl 10 months, walk with help 11 months, Pull up using furniture 12 months, climb 13 months, stand alone 14 months, walk alone 15 months.

no that's not weird- my son was 13 almost 14 months before he really started walking. I talked to the pediatrician and he said that is nothing to worry about because in all other areas my son was developing just like he should. I think a couple reasons my son was so late walking was that he was almost 4 weeks early and he was my first baby- so I carried him alot and just really babied him alot since I could at that time. The other 2 kids walked earlier than my son but they were just about 12-13 months...believe me he will be walking soon enough and then the real fun of chasing him and keeping him out of stuff and trouble is what you'll be worrying about! good luck- don't rush it just enjoy the time with the baby! ;o)

He'll walk on his own in his own time. My first didn't take her first steps until after her first birthday and she didn't really start walking well until a few weeks later. One of my girlfriends has a daughter that didn't walk until she was almost 1 1/2 and she is totally normal, developmentally. Some kids just take a little longer than others to walk.

Have four kids. Their walked ranged from 11 months for the earliest to 15 months for the latest. The late walker started talking first, and was more interested in watching the world around her then in going. Her first "word" was an entire sentence. She was reading at two and a half and writing long letters to her grandmother at three. Graduated class valedictorian. And today runs her own photography business chain. (But she STILL can't walk without tripping over her own shadow LOL). So at 12 months, you son is right where he sould be.

No need to worry, it is fine. My oldest 2 didn't walk until they were just over a year. My middle one walked at 10 months and my twins walked at 12 and 15 months. As long as he is taking some steps he will get it, when he is ready. One thing I have learned since becoming a mother 6 years ago, kids will do things when they are good and ready!!

He's doing well. He's making the effort and that's very important in his development. Some kids take longer to pass milestones than others.
I played a game with my daughter to help her learn to walk. I'd hold her while she stood and then I'd say "1-2-3 let go". We started out about 1 step away from me and as she got better I'd hold her a little farther away, never far enough that I couldn't catch her if she started to fall and hit her head, but I let her fall on her butt because she needed to learn that happens. I don't know if I really helped her learn to walk, but maybe I helped her build the confidence to really do it.

This is normal my son didnt start walking till he was like 14 months. They all start at diffrent times one is not like some magic age that they all start walking the only time i would get worried was if he was like 18 months and not walking then you may need help but it does seem like he is right on track. And trust me when they can walk all heck is going to break lose you wont relize how many things you have that can break or be torn till he is that mobile good luck and dont worry.

Could be no big deal but I sure would mention it to his pediatritian and get his or her take on it.
You never want to ignore things that you feel are unusual. Find out the facts from someone more knowledgable and that way you will feel better. I'd bet he just hasn't found anywhere he wants to go bad enough to get up and start walking yet. We all develop on our own schedule and there's no need to rush or worry. Good luck with the little fella.

This is not weird and in fact, it is perfectly normal. Walking at 1 year old is just a general guideline. Since he is standing on his own and attempting to take steps he sounds like he is right on track. I have 4 kids and they all walked at different ages. 1st at 11 months, 2nd at 12 months, 3rd at 10 months, and 4th at 15 months.

No, my son started about 13 months, my daughter started about 15 months.
It is best if they crawl for awhile before walking. If he is taking steps he will be running by two!
Is he a talker?
At 1 year my son decided to talk, then walk.
Listen to the doctor, your son is doing great.
