I was reading the Yahoo article where Landrieu was responding to readers. She said that $110 billion of our tax dollars were allocated to New Orleans but most of it was wasted. She said it went to FEMA, Corps of Engineers, etc. and they in essence wasted it. What do you think? Is she passing the buck or is this reality? Oh, what ever happened to the record donations received by the Red Cross?

So much for "throwing money at it". That ALWAYS results in waste. Everyone, including the Bush Administration, knew there would be waste and corruption, but there was an EMERGENCY, with people homeless, hungry and dying.

What do you suppose it costs to put rescue helicopters on the scene to pick people off their roofs before they drown? And how do you tell the Red Cross that all the money you donate has to be earmarked for Katrina? They have a lot of people suffering even more, worldwide. than those caught in Katrina, and the Red Cross workers couldn't even be allowed into New Orleans until order was restored by the National Guard.

New Orleans is and has had the most corrupt politicians.
Bar none ( regardless of political party)
The police have been accused of corruption for years the FBI has been investigating them for at least 10 years .
So to hear money is missing or was wasted doesn't surprise me .
