A month ago the side of my right knee went numb after a weekend long backpacking trip. A month later it wasn't better, so I went to the doctor. She said it could take up to 2 months to clear up and not to worry unless it got worse or changed somehow. Well a week later, my foot is starting to have the feeling that it is going numb. It is actually from the very bottom of my calf muscle all the way to my foot. I have an appointment with the doctor on tuesday of next week... just a few days away, but I am wondering if I should not push to be seen by the doctor tomorrow morning. It is not normal for apendages to go numb!

I just went to the doctor today. They are scheduling me for a nerve test down the right side of my lower body and doing lab work. Apparently there are certain vitamin defficiencies that can cause this type of thing as well.

The best thing to do is to ask your doctor for an referral to see a specialist, just to rule out the clotted artery fear. I personally believe that you probably have a pinched nerve somewhere from your hip down ask your doctor what she actually think it is first then maybe you can rule out your theory of thinking the worst.

You can wait a day or so, but definately go to the doctor. That first doctor should have done an MRI to give you any answers at all.
