I am 28 weeks pregnant and my baby pushes back when I apply light pressure on the spots he moves, but how do I determine if its a foot kicking back or arm-thanks for your answers

at 28 weeks the baby should be lying head up towards your heart and the hands are normally tucked in towards the face(the feotal position)sucking their thumbs type of thing, if the kicking is below you knavel its almost certainly his feet, if its above the knavel its almost certainly his hands thats pushing,
at the end of the day you just be happy and gratefull that your child is alive and doing well,
I hope you have a happy un-complicated birth and that you have many happy years together,

good luck and god bless you's

You can get some idea here:

It is possible to tell where your baby is, but it takes a lot of practice.

I didn't get really good at it until my 5th pregnancy, and that was after the midwife showed me how during my 4th pregnancy, and I had practice all through that pregnancy.

Things to keep in mind:
The legs are a bit bigger than the arms, and are attached to the butt. The butt in general tends to be round and firm, but softer than the head.

The head is round and very firm, and when you gently press on it, you can "bobble" it back and forth. The butt does not "bobble."

Once the baby gets close to term, you will be able to feel the shape of the feet better, and tell when you have a foot vs. a hand, knee, or elbow easier.

I usually rely on my doctor to tell me how the baby is lying, he knows so much more about what he's feeling down there than I do. Although with my last baby I knew she had turned because I was getting kicked in the ribs and at times I could feel her little butt pushing on my belly just under my ribs, like she thought she could get out that way.

I guess if you need a quick answer, I'd say if you are getting a lot of jabs in the bladder, the baby hasn't turned yet, and if you are getting jabs in the ribs, the baby may have turned. It's hard to say since every baby is different, you could have a boxer instead of a kick-boxer.
