An individualist can often function well in society. A social misfit cannot, by definition.

I think one leads to another...If you are an individualist, you will do what you believe to be right or true without regard to society's actions or expectations.....And, if you are an individualist, you are sure to be a social misfit because you go against the grain, so to speak.

By the way, thanks for the questions, they are therapeutic for me, because as a spiritual person in this world it is rare to be able to express myself to others at this level....You are awesome, little skeleton guy :)

A social misfit may be defined as one who fits into no society while an individualist may be defined as one who, while accepted in society, stands out from the rest of society for a particular reason.

A social misfit is uncomfortable because he/she can't fit in, and blames society for that. An individualist revels in his/her own uniqueness, and pities society for its conformity.
