There are actually college professors, adults in charge of teaching our young adults, and who should know better, that the twin towers were imploded from within, and that 9/11 was a government plot orchestrated to further the aims of the Bush administration (I'm laughing as I'm writing this), all without a shred of proof.
Never mind the logistical problem posed by such an idiotic fantasy - how were the explosive charges planted without detection?
There are also alternate theories that the planes were radio controlled (I'm not making this up), and also that Osama Bin Laden in actuality is a US agent.
Conspiracy theories exist so that weak and easily manipulated minds can explain reality in a way that serves whatever agenda they have, best.
I have no problem if weak minded and easily led fools want to buy into whatever outlandish fantasy, a la Oliver Stone, but when this self serving crap is taught to our kids, I think we have aproblem.

bowstance@sb writing below - you fit into the conspiracy idiot category.
9/11 was not carried out in retaliation to anything. It was not even an act based in reality as we know it. it was a cowardly, unprovoked attack on our values to promote a violent, religious agenda.
Tell you what - why don't you pack up all your s**t and move to Iran?

roadscholar22 - I posed this question not twenty five minutes ago, and here you are already.
Folks, say 'hi' to our first certifiable fool of the day.
So you can clearly see explosions coming from inside the building? I take it you are a demolitions expert.

janice h - I agree with the substance of your answer, but you got your quote wrong.
Lincoln said that you can fool all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.
Our conspiracy fools belong to the second part of that quote.

Weak minded fool #2 just chimed in. Figato, answering below just contradicted himself in the same sentence - on the one hand he tells me that I'm right, there's no proof, but on the other he says that there are 'anomalies' that need to be questioned.

To Figato - How do you sound like me? My command of the English language is far superior to yours. you don't write very well at all.
You also don't reason very well - if there were 'anomalies', there would be proof of these 'anomalies', but you say there is no proof.

haha183 - I take it you are either an architect or an engineer. People like you and my friend, Figato, are fun to have around, because you always liven the party up with your silly ideas, and take our minds off the stark reality at hand.

And to my friend, Figato, you seem like a nice guy, and probably somewhat intelligent, why do you persist in leaving me these links with stuff that you're trying to convince yourself is true?
By the way, I agree with you about Steven Seagal - I never considered what a weapon his big gut potentially is

Because they buy into the crap that ultra liberal college professors and teachers who have chip on their shoulder about the conservative leadership that owns the majority in our federal government today. It's the same with this garbage film portraying the assassination of Bush in Oct. of '07. Let's analyze why 9/11 was orchestrated in this first place. They took advantage of an administration that had no balls when it came to dealing with terrorists. That administration was in power from '92 to '00. I agree with you Brad it is convenient and serves their agenda, whatever it may be. The unfortunate issue is that many of these whacked out professors have tenure, and many, not all mind you, college presidents don't have the guts to fire these so called professors who are only supposed to stick to the curriculum and not foist their own political views on to our young people. What happened to truth and fact being taught in the classroom?

Why? Because we can see the anomalies in the whole situation.
You are correct - there is no proof - but there is enough "wrong with this picture" to make thinking liberals and conservatives alike ask about what is really going on.
If you believe it is only about terrorism you are naive.
If you believe it is only about oil you are naive.
If you have no questions in your mind about it then YOU are the one who is easily manipulated.
OK, this was a waste of time.
Questioner can't tell the difference between anomaly and proof.
Dude, you need a valium, but I just have to add:
ANY FREAKIN' IDIOT LIKE YOU WHO BELIEVES THIS SPOON FED CR*P THAT IT WAS ALL A RANDOM TERRORIST PLOT IS LIVING IN FREAKIN' DREAM LAND. WAKE UP FOOL. I'LL BET YOU SLEEP WITH THE WARREN REPORT UNDER YOUR PILLOW IDIOT. DO YOU SPEND YOUR TIME PROVING THAT OSWALD WAS ABLE TO HIT A MELLON FROM A MILE AWAY WITH A BOLT-ACTION? DO YOU BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR? DO YOU BELIEVE IN SANTA YOU IDIOT??? I SUPPOSE YOU ARE AFRAID TO FLY BECAUSE PLANES CAN SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODE FROM FUEL TANK VAPOR LIKE FLIGHT 800!!!!
AND HEY MORON, I'M WRITING A CHILDRENS BOOK ABOUT HOW THIS WAS ALL A PLOT BY HENRY KISSINGER.
One more thing... DID I MENTION YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!?!?!?
There. Now I sound like you - happy?
Do you like my wig?
Again you don't know what an anomaly is. LOOK IT UP.
BTW: Bruce Lee was the WORST action star. I'll give it to Steven Segal anytime.
Anyone who can use a beer belly as an offensive weapon has my vote.
Check this out and let me know what you think:

Some of it is cr*p, but some if it- especially the financial transactions really don't fit.
In an effort to seperate the wheat from the chaff, I have to say that I do NOT believe anything other than the planes were necessary to take down the towers. Split 2 110 story buildings in half and drop the top half on the bottom and you get exactly what you see in the videos. TOWER 7 is the smoking gun.

You already know the answer. If the liberals in our colleges and the liberals in the press as well as the liberals in congress could they would try and convict George Bush for the towers. Being unable to do that they try to say it was not terrorists it was our own government. They are trying to promote their own agenda and unfortunately there are some fools who will believe anything. What is it Barnum said you can fool some of the people some of the time , all of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. The conspiracy folks are in the some of the people some of the time category. They just need to get a life.

i, according to you, are "one of those idiots" that believe this theory. i am completely sure it was an inside job... by our own government. the two buildings both collapsed at an impossible speed. those planes should have only harmed the top floors of those buildings and the main support beams of the building had not been touched. the buildings actually fell with the help of explosives, that were used to take out the main support beams. some say that the building just burned at incredible speed, but no. also the buildings were burning at a temperature higher than jet fuel can burn, by at least two thousand degrees, therefore proving that there were explosives involved.
if you could, please find the video "loose change", or "loose change II" to back up what i have already mentioned (plus more)!
please also visit http://www.911research.com. this website will give you evidence to all of what you don't believe. i hope this website benefits you...

Conspiracy theories are not uncommon. Lot of people raise these kind of stupid questions without any factual evidence. i believe mostly to gain some trivial attention in the eyes of media.
I agree its worse stupidity to belive these and preach them.

You're obviously too dense to see the evidence of the "conspiracy" so there is no use in defending it. Even if you can clearly see on video (loosechange) that there were explosions in the buildings, your type will find a way to keep the blinders on. It is called "being in denial", unless you're one of the victimizers. Wakey, wakey, pal!

I think the question we need to ask ourselves about 9/11 is why we were attacked. Random terrorists that hate the US didn't just bomb us to bomb us. They were striking back for years of US manipulation. Every action has a reaction.
