I have a friend who recommended a job for me to apply for. He also applied for the job, got hired, but suddenly quit on his first week eventhough the pay was really good. Then, he made me apply and he asked me to meet with his backer who is a gay guy. When I met up with the guy, he told me that he would help me get a job but it was obvious that he have other intentions. He was really creepy and even touched and squeezed my knees, and said "don't be scared". I was like "wtf?" and walked out. Now, the reason that my friend quit would be probably because of this gay guy as well. I mean, why would you quit a high paying job so suddenly? right? So, would you still consider him as a friend eventhough he didn't warn you about him? and now that I have a good job, this friend asks me to help him. would you help him if you were me, after all that?

have the conversation with your Friend and find out if the friend knew that the backer wanted you for other intentions. If your Friend didn't know or that wasn't the reason he quit then maybe this was just bad communication and your friendship should be able to grow from it.
