I am going to engage in sexual contact with another female for the first time, and I want to practice safe sex. IS there a method for doing this with another female? Please advise.

Ok--I know this will sound silly, but is it necessary for Lesbians to have protection? I truly believe so, but others have told me no. I am new to this, and I am just trying to make sure I make the right decision.

if you go down on her, orally, there are dental dams. Theyr'e a piece of rubber that goes over the vagina like a condom and you oral sex that way...no fluids will be in contact

Dental dams. There is another gizmo call a female condom that is inserted into the vagina and has this latex shield that covers the outside of the vagina. It is lubricated and tastes awful and requires to much attention on keeping it in place. So I recommend the dental dam for oral sex. You could also try using condoms on toys if you are going to use them. Finger cots are available also. Also if you are going to use lub use a water base lube. This is safe for those who have allergies to latex or silicone. You some people refuse practicing safer sex because it doesn't feel natural or takes to long to put condoms on. Actually taking 30 seconds to open a package and put on a condom can save your life. It can also be very sexxy and fun! Good for you to think safety first. Have fun.

It's necessary to use protection when having sex with ANYBODY other than yourself. But like everybody already stated use dental dams and I suppose if you are using any kind of sex toys you could put condoms on them also.

You can go to the local drug store and get condoms and cut them down the middle, also there are such items as Dental Dams, they are square pieces of latex made precisely for oral sex on women. The flavored ones are great. Peace.

Dental dams are a thin sheet of latex, they are your best bet for oral sex. There are female condoms but they're awkward and time consuming to use.
You can also use latex gloves for your hands and regular condoms for your toys.

Dental dams are good, but if you're too embarrassed to go buy them, you can also use Saran Wrap. It's a little thinner and might transmit a better sensation for you and your partner.

YES, there are "female condoms" It looks like a thin sheet of rubber that you place over the aera. Go to your local health department and ask if they have any. They should be at no cost.

Theyre called Dental Dams. Basically its like a piece of umm.. cling film? that u put over her dignity so u dont exchange any bodily fluids? lol
