Has any woman in here had root beer during your pregnancy and had perfectly healthy, fine babies? I am scared, don't know why but I went to Pizza Hut for lunch today for the buffet and had some root beer to drink. I never thought root beer has alcohol in it, does it ladies? And how about caffeine content? I am 11 weeks prego now and just hope the root beer is not too bad for me or my baby on the way. anyone know?

I am the father of two children, lived through two pregnancies, and I have never heard of root beer being a threat to an unborn fetus. It doesn't contain either alcohol or caffeine. And even if it did, moderate amounts shouldn't harm your child. Unless somebody knows something I don't I honestly think you are overreacting here. However, you should discuss the do's and don'ts of diet with your obstetrician.

ACTUAL root beer has alcohol in it, but the root beer at Pizza Hut certainly does not. The root beer you buy at the grocery store also does not, so no worries there.

As far as caffeine content, depending on what brand the root beer was, it may not have any caffeine at all. I know that Mug root beer is caffeine free and a couple of others are too.

You have nothing to worry about as far as your pregnancy or your baby.

Root beer contains NO alcohol or caffeine! You will be fine! I drink root beer all the time, and I'm 24 weeks pregnant. It's on of the few sodas you can drink while pregnant, because it doesn't contain caffeine.

There is not alcohol in root beer. It is just called root beer because of the flavor, not the ingredients that in it. As for caffeine, you can still consume a small percentage of caffeine and it will not affect the baby; just don't consume caffeine on a regular basis. Your baby will be fine.

Root beer does not have alcohol and caffeine. The sugar content is high, but unless you have high blood sugar or are at risk for gestational diabetes, there's no risk. As long as you cut down on other sweets to balance it out , it is perfectly fine to drink as much as you want. Half a glass is totally safe

Root beer does not have alcohol in it. If it did, then all mothers of the world would be in jail, for giving alcohol to minors. Think about it. And root beer does NOT contain caffeine. I understand you being worried about caffeine, but alcohol in root beer?? This is the craziest thing I have read all day....thank you!! LMFAO.....rootbeer....alcohol!!!!

Ok, root beer does not have alcohol in it! I mean common sense would have told you that they wouldn't have beer coming out of a fountain drink machine...available to people of all ages.

And as for the caffeine...one pop a day is what my dr said.

Let me give you a little perspective. With my 4th child, I did not know I was pregnant for 4 months. During that time I went out with co-workers on 2 separate occasions. One time I had champagne, the other time I had a Margarita. She was born the day after Thanksgiving. So smart and perfect, she was sitting her head up at 3 weeks, potty trained in 2 days, and straight A's in school until 7th grade when she got lazy. :) Don't panic about the root beer. Your baby's gonna be perfect! Congrats, Good Luck and GOD Bless!
