I want to be a millionaire, what can I do to accomplish that in the next year? I only make $50,000/yr.

Go straight into politics.
Graft and corruption is a quick way up the financial ladder. Run for Mayor of your city if it's less than 500,000 people. If you city is larger think of a smaller office, like Transportation or Power.
Since us voters are pretty apathetic your odds are 1 in 3 of getting elected as a total unknown. Fantastic odds to get to be a millionaire in about a year.

Well, how much do you already have?
I mean the quick answer is play the lottery, hit the casinos, rob a bank- and hope for the best- but to become a millionare takes patience and time. Find a good stock broker and tell him/her what your goals are. If you're only making $50000/year it will take at least a few years...
reduce your living expenses and save every extra penny in the highest interest bearing account you can find. INGdirect is good or emigrantdirect- and remember that interest compounds.
Also- money isn't everything- find things that you love that are free.

Easiest way to get a $1M, is to make $1M. Hoping to win the lottery, pretty much guarantees you'll never make $1M.
Hang around millionaires, and you will see it's not the difficult. Can you make it in 1 yr?... depends on your desire and your 'why'. If your 'why' is big enough... I believe you can.
If you are serious, I'll introduce you to people making that much, and have them mentor you. ( I'm not quite there yet, but ask me again next year :)

I want to get outta debit, meaning being able to pay all of my bills in full and not just in halves and get late charges added on, I want to be able to help the poor people in this world and I especially want to help the children @ ST.
