What do you recommend to remove crab grass from my lawn?

I just bought a new house. It has a lot of crab grass. I don't want to kill all my grass, just spot kill the crab grass. Chemicals?

Crab grass has a shallow root system and will grow between St Augustine grass and choke it out. Best to (1) get a small stool,(2) a digger and pull it out by hand. Most weed killers will also kill the desired grass as it has the same root structure. Good Luck.

Crabgrass killer is the only way to do it without digging. Plus it comes back from seed over and over and over and over------ so your best bet is to keep it sprayed, if your grass can handle it. Know what kind of lawn grass you have, or find out before you spray and make sure the label says it is safe. Also important to keep any crabgrass from going to seed.
Once you have the crabgrass knocked down, fertilize and water heavy, and don't mow your grass too short so that it thicken up, and choke out new sprouts.

I just look for a crab grass killer with at least 50 % Methanearsonate.it will kill the root..

Arm & Hammer baking soda/ you can buy big bags of it pour it on crab grass,when it turns brown,pull it out an dplant new grass

the best way to get rid of crabgrass is to put out a preventative or pre emergent. Lowes and home depot should be carrying it by now because you can only use it in the fall and spring. Spread it down both times for the best results.

it depends on how much you got and how bad it is/how big the yard is. you can pull it out by hand and plant grass seeds in its place or you can dig it up and plant grass seeds, i wouldnt recomend chemicals.

I would and have used a mixture of salt and amonia. Not too strong. Mix salt and amonia to 4-parts water, spray in early morning..
