Religion is the sigh of the oppressed, it's the heart of a heartless world. Religion exists because people are unhappy. Unhappiness and religion co-exist.

I can only speak for myself but being religious makes me unhappy when I look at the world. Seeing so much anger and violence, yet believing in God, it gets frustrating. Especially when so many do evil in the name of God (not just Muslims). It's a sad world we live in and I've come to find the happiest people are those that only focus on the here and now. If I wasn't a believer, maybe I could do that but I see life as a test and each step matters.

A Christian once told me that it is a decision. Religious people will still have emotions like anger and sadness. It's just that there is a higher power in their lives that eases the pain of the most difficult times that makes life more bearable.

Now what is religion ? To be very precise, it is just a trial to answer unsolved questions. It started all from philosophy, then science occupied the brainy pple's brain, the left out pple r left with religion, & the super intelligent pple like me neither believe in science nor in religion & of course i am happy to let the pple do their own work.

Many times the Religious leaders do not give the person any comfort. They do not have the answers, or the answers are not bible based, they may the opinions of the person who gives them.
Many religions get involved with politics, governments and scandals etc. How can that give one comfort? If you look at the real Bible truths, it certainly promotes happiness.

Could it be that an unhappy person tries to find solutions everywhere except inside himself? Only you can change you.
Religion is to worship God, not to worry about whether he did anything specifically for you.

They might if there was a God helping those who worshipped them.
Such a God might help them be happier, or live longer or healthier. A religion with a God taking care of those who worship them would kick ***.

I am a relatively happy Christian, however, there are down times. You create your own purgatory. If you wake up and say...it's a rotten day...then your day is going to be rotten. If you think it, it will be so.

Yes, if they do things God's way.....then they will get God results.
The issue is always between you and God. The joy and happiness of God is our strength. But we must follow Him and His ways, not our own.
