All pre-season, I've been watching refs give offensive squads free yards, downs and points, because the big meanies, on the defenses, have hurt their feelings by saying something unkind to them, after laying the smack down on them. Come on! How weak is that? The league has been getting softer and softer over the past few years: no looking hard at the QB; no helmet to helmet; no hitting receivers unless they have the ball, and even then they have to make sure not to do it too hard; no taunting or celebrating... SOON, no tackling period; defensive players will only be allowed to run-up and say gotcha.

Am I wrong, or has the NFL gone soft?

Yeah, they should bring back helmet to helmet hits!

Not enough pro ball players end up paralyzed, in comas or dead. And what good is watching a sport if the players don't face possible death on every play?

i extremely extremely favor to say something witty and noteworthy about Adam Jones being reinstated, yet i am going to't. i wager he did his time in rehab and with slightly of success he could pay very a lot out of pocket to make up for his blunders, yet sufficient is sufficient. As in something, some ruin it for all. i don't believe of issues are swept less than the rug because this is the NFL. very last nighttime this is all ESPN observed. i'm purely ill of listening to about the undesirable stuff the gamers do. enable's talk about Warwick Dunn and what he does for homeless women and childrens. How about that as a lead tale, HUA?

Of course is getting softer. Do not forget how big they made the "love boat" scandal.

I see your humor, yet in all seriousness, it's more the legal and sportsman ship side that is getting beaten on, Can't lett them get hurt, yet got to let them play a little, it's a catch 22 as so many players have lost their chance of making to opening day because of presason game injuries that have ended careers, yet team owners have spent millions on players to have a winning season. it's a meat market, it's greed and it's never gonna end unless football is outlawed altogether.

Soon it will be flag football or just simulated in Madden for the gaming systems. It's a joke anymore so I've opted to spend my time doing better things then wasting four hours to watch a 60 minute game.

I agree with the "softer" comment, but it's still the National Football League... or perhaps the No Fun League.

I will wait for regular season to see if it carries over. I ( and my husband) think it is a waste of a player, to risk injury before the season starts.

It's getting there. A player can showboat, just not over or infront of an opposing player I guess.
