Not legal immigrants, ILLEGAL ones. They are breaking the law, and all I hear is "we're ALL immigrants except Native Americans". OK, true but we are here legally, speak English and pay taxes. Why do people get so defensive when this issue is brought up? They are breaking the law, living here tax-free and OUR tax dollars pay for THEIR medical care! How is this right or fair? And WE have to learn Spanish to accomodate them??? That is NOT fair!

People continue to defend them because they have it really, really rough, because people tell lies about them (such as saying they don't pay taxes, which they do, and that they use up our tax money, which they don't), and because attacking them (the most powerless people in America) is absurd.

If you really want to stop illegal immigration, prevent people from hiring illegal immigrants. The biggest employers of illegals are the ones that keep preventing genuine crackdowns on illegal immigration because they are unwilling to pay their employees for their labor.

Believe it or not, most immigrants that are legal were at one point illegal. I am speaking on personal experience. In the 1920's ( i believe) there was an influx of (white) immigrants who came in boat loads to Ellis Island in NY. And a vast majority of them were criminals and committed crimes when they arrive.
The reason that many people (including) Americans keep defending them is because they understand that not EVERY illegal or legal immigrant is breaking the law. There are some Americans breaking the law. They also understand that immigrants are not the only ones "abusing" taxpayers dollars. So is the American women who has ten children and not working and continues to collect welfare simple because she can. The dead beat dad who after recieves his first check, quits each job to avoid paying child support for all his children.

Has no one ever told you that there are vast sums of money involved in all aspects of illegality. Immigration is just a very small slice but while the common man is arguing against them, the top dogs, who make most of the money from the immigrants, are rubbing their hands. Whilst the argument about immigration rages, items will quietly appear in tycoon led newspapers and television news programmes which deflects the attention from their huge profits. Government is the same, while the 'lower' classes fight among themselves, they are not fighting the top dogs. Stop and think about it the next time you see large headlines about immigration - look for the small column on page three that talks about some large companies blunder or an outrage in government office........................

I think it's the employers who are at fault mostly. THEY are the ones who are hiring these immigrants to do landscaping, roofing, etc., then giving them a 1099 form at the end of the year. SO, they're paying nothing for their workers, and on top of that, not having to pay taxes! If they'd stop hiring them, they'd stop coming. At least some of them would. The medical care is BS though. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing a pregnant illegal going to the hospital to have her kid. Once the baby is born, it is a legal citizen of this country. What are we going to do...deport the woman and keep her baby? No. Deport both of them? No, because you can't deport a US citizen (the baby). It's complete BS.

It is irratating. They all lay real low around here, but I know they're everywhere because all lables have spanish on them. I coudn't care less if they came from another country - we speak english here for crying out loud! Arrest them and send them home. I'm tired of paying for them. I'm unemployed right now and nobody is offering to pay my way. What's wrong with his picture?

Because we have bigger problems. Some people are so swept up in racism they don't see the problems right under their noses. You know how much one month in Iraq costs? You would'nt be worried about illegal immagant emergency medical care if you did.

You throw around the word "illegal" like they murdered someone. Speeding is illegal. Should we arrest all the speeders and send them to Mexico?

Maybe there are bigger problems..i.e.Iraq, but we citizens can't change that. We can however, stop hiring illegal immigrants and stop renting to them. They take jobs away from our citizens because they work for next to nothing. Why should we lower our standards to compete with a border jumper?

The mexicans lived on the lower parts of Texas and california I believe and the 'Americans' killed them off the land. I'll be ****ed if I had to ask or apply to live on land that my fore fathers were thrown off of.

No, it isn't fair and NO I WILL NOT learn Spanish to accommodate them. Hell, I don't even know any Chinese. I am American, I speak English!

because our government makes it too difficult to become legal, especially, for our mexican friends to the south. if someone wants to become an american the process should be quick an easy unless they are a criminal or a danger to the country.
