I too have used both services and I have VERY strong opinions on this subject matter. I say go Netflix.
I started out with Netflix, but when they raised the price, I switched and went to Blockbuster Online. It was awful! The envelopes they send their movies in rip really easily and because of the way they are designed, the post office barcode goes on the front of the envelope. This caused big problems, because countless movies were never delivered to me (or were very, very late -- sometimes it took me two weeks to get a movie!), or when I tried to return them to Blockbuster, the barcode on the envelope cuased them to be re-delivered to my home! I had to take countless movies INTO the post office to tell them, no, these movies have to go back to Blockbuster. If I had to leave my home to go to the post office, I could've just rented the movies at my neighborhood blockbuster!
So I went back to Netflix. I figured it may cost a little more, but I was getting a better value for my money since I could watch morre movies in a month without all the delivery problems.
I love Netflix! They have a great selection and they usually come up with recommendations for me that I actually like! On the Blockbuster Online site I rated movie after movie and never once got a decent recommendation from them. And don't you know, about a month after I rejoined Netflix, they LOWERED their rates. Have you ever heard of a company doing that? I love them.
Hope this helps.

I was looking at this problem just this morning. I'd say Netflix just becuase they claim to have over 1000 more movies than Blockbuster does.
The advantage to Blockbuster is they give you coupons for free in store rentals too, but if they are being sent to your house do you really need to go to the store to get differnt ones. Both places have a Unlimited movies one at a time plan for $9.99 which is all I would ever need, not sure about you.
I had Blockbuster a few months ago and cancelled it because I though I was moving (which I ended up doing) the only complaint I had was I got the special edition disc of Castle in the Sky before I got the regualr movie which seemed kinda pointless. If Blockbuster would also lump games into the mix I'd sign up for Blockbuster again in a heart beat cause Netflix + Gamefly is a bit much when you could be only having one account.

I use to use Netflix and I absolutely loved it. Great selection of moives AND tv series. It's how I got caught up on The Sopranos before I got HBO ;-) I used netflix instead of Cable when I lived in Austin because I could swing the 20/month for it, but 65/month on up for cable with a movie channel was just a bit too much. The only reason I don't have it now, is that my girl isn't a movie fan, and I work 60+ hours/week.
I have no experience with Blockbuster online, but I would think Netflix was still the best service. They HAD to figure out a way to make money only online, or they weren't going to survive, and they have done both. Logically, it would seem that they still offer the best service you can get.

Well, I have used them both. I personally liked Blockbuster the most. I never had a problem getting the movies I wanted.. They send you coupons in your email to buy movies so cheap at times. They send you monthly coupons for free rentals at your local blockbuster stores. They give you big discounts on previously viewed movies. You won't go wrong with Blockbuster. I had problems with netflix due to them saying my movies were not returned several times. They resolved the issue with no problems, but I switched to Blockbuster for exactly that reason. Blockbuster never tells you you are late to send it in.. It is up to you, and if you decide you want to buy the movie, you have the option to keep it and pay for it. I would definitely say Blockbuster....Good luck to you. Have a great day. Hope this helped.

The only thing I don't like about Netflix is, I live in PA. they ship from PA., but after a while they started shipping my movies from other locations so I wouldn't get them as fast. So what I did when I would recieve a DVD from California I would then print a label, and return it to the PA. location. So keep an eye on where their shipping from. They do have the best selection. I belong to Blockbuster Online also. The best thing about them is you get 4 FREE in store rentals per month so it kinda like getting the service for free, I pay $19.25 per month So that $17.16 in free rentals, and I get 3 movies at a time in the mail. Netflix has a wider range of DVD choices. Lots of Music DVD's.

I've used both services, and I'm presently a Netflix subscriber - have been now for two years. Both services have some titles that the other doesn't - I happen to rent a lot of music videos and television series - but overall Netflix has the better selection, IMO.
Netflix *does* tend to penalize those of us who rent, watch and return quickly. They got sued for this, and now they have to state in their service agreement that they do this. Still, it's never been that big of an issue for me - I wait this long to see a film, I can wait a little longer.
Best advice is to try each service - they each offer a short, free trial period - and decide for yourself which one you like the best.

Netflix rocks, especially if you really watch a lot of movies and turn them back in. I HATE BLOCKBUSTER! They will send you to collection, even if you owe them less than $5.00! How customer-friendly is that? And their gift cards suck. Go Netflix, I have yet to be disappointed!

I have never had a problem with Blockbuster online. They send out replacement movies before they get the scratched copy, you get coupons for the stores and I have yet to want something that they don't carry.
