Got some weird things happening....firewalls being turned off n certain things not working.

If you are talking about firewalls as packages of software that you installed on your machine that got turn off and certain apps not working, it is possible your machine has been hacked. Yet, it could also be some software installation or uninstallation that you performed to destablize the system.
To check wether your computer is hacked or not, you can try running virus scan from the likes of Norton, McAfee, Trenco, or AVG to detect any virus or other identified malicious codes. You can also re-install windows to see if you can get any of lost functionality back. On a side note to insure best security, a physical firewall such as a Cisco Router is preferred.
I hope this helps. Plus, if all else fail, format the harddrive and re-install is always the ultimate option.

hacking is done by n00bs with half knowledge. they google for any old script and throw it at a random ip...... instant hacker. i expect if you had such scripts bugging ya the effects might be worse

You probably would not really know if you were hacked. Hackers are very sneaky.

If it's been hacked it'll have telltale splits in it.
