I had a cercalge with my twins. It was placed at 20 weeks and at 34 weeks "baby a" decided he was through being in there and busted the stitch (OUCH!). I am grateful for having it placed though. Without it, my babies would have been born a lot sooner and may not have made it. I am currently pregnant and I am getting one done in a few weeks, just to be safe. However, this time I hope the doc removes the ENTIRE stitch. Last time she left a piece of it in and I had to have it removed surgically at my 6 week check!!!

I just lost a baby girl at 21 weeks due to Incompetant Cervix, and was told that when we get pregnant again (we are trying again in 6 months) that I have to get the cervical stitching done at 14-15 weeks. My Aunt's sister lost 4 babies and then they finally did the stitching on her and she had two, close to full term babies after that. I didn't have I/C with my son, but due to a rough birth it caused the I/C.

Wow, I am just in tears reading these answers. I clicked on your question because I was curious. My heart really goes out to you all. I lost my first child (different circumstances and years ago) but I can only imagine how difficult this must be. I am answering only to suggest you start sometype of online support group. It sounds like there may be many that could benefit from sharing their stories and reading others in this area.
