You used the word JUST and GOVERNMENT in the same sentence. The question should really be first off "Is there such a thing as a JUST Government?" I do believe they should provide health care, but tighten regulations and requirements so it is not so easily abused. With children, I have good insurance, but would be devastated if there were no options for my family in the event I was not employed. It would be so wonderful if "people could give back" to their communities when recieving government health care or any other assistance......but I am a dreamer. What a perfect world we could have!

in a perfect world "YES" of course but the only way to do this without hurting its citizens is to stop providing free healthcare and other benefits to illegal aliens (for those polically correct person(s) undocumented migrant workers). If your a mexican national or of other latin orgin get over it. Im not just refering to you but to all those europeans, canadians etc. what I find disgraceful is the homeless in our country that are without any kinds of help medically/financially. these are our citizens who require our help. This country gives out more financial/material aid than any other country and that should be enough until we can take care of our own. The politicians are too busy playing politcis due to elections and wanting the latino vote so they wont commit. Im sorry for those who are offended however, 911 changed not only the country but a majority of its people as well. Once we can get a grip of those in need in this country then and only then we can reveiw on a case by case basis our immigration quagmire.

It has nothing to do with being "just." Providing health care, especially if the government is paying for it, is very expensive. Our government does not have a track record for penny pinching, so our taxes would rise dramatically to try and cover the costs, the bureaucracy to try and see a doctor would be unbelievable, not to mention that we already do provide health care to those who can really not afford it. If you want to reduce the costs one way would be to limit liability for doctors who make honest mistakes in treatment of patients. This will reduce malpractice insurance premiums for doctors and allow them to reduce their costs.

Governments are good at some things and not so good at others. Things governments are good at: building a military, building roads, conducting international affairs of state. Things governments are extremely bad at: anything enterprise that can be conducted better and more efficiently by the private sector...among those: education, healthcare, medical research, and just about any 'for profit' business.

yes..esp for government servants they should provide free healthcare...these ppl wud have served the government till they retired..so it wud be good if the government wud at least give them free health care as a thank u for their services to the government..tats wat practiced in my country...all government servants get free health care and subsidised charges for certain operations..and their spouses are covered too...and also to those who are underprivillaged(ie single moms wit 3-4 kids or wit a disabled child, disabled adults,)

You want tax cuts or health care. All countries that provide healthcare have a 50% taxation on income. Are you ready for that?
NOTHING IS FOR FREE!!!!!

I don't think so. If you want something work for it. If you complain that you have a low paying job, then you shouldn't have been goofing off when you should have been learning. You reap what you sow.

Just governments already do. Ipso facto, those that don't, but have the money to do so, are not just.
