How are you or that person doing? Were there any complications or pain afterwards? How long was the healing process? Any info would help. Thanks.

My mother had a radical hysterectomy. She has absolutely no sexual desire. Hold on to those ovaries if you can!

Yes I had one 22 years ago. Yes there is pain afterwards. They do it differently nowadays so there may not be as much pain. It took me a good 4 months to be able to walk without hurting. Be prepared to gain some weight afterwards. Don't know why but some women gain weight after a hysterectomy. Your hormones will be all messed up for a while. The hormone replacement therapy did not work for me. It made me have blood clots, made my hair fall out & a variety of other things. I finally went to herbal remedies which seemed to work much better for me. It turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. I had ALOT of female probs. So this was the best solution for me. Good luck hope this helps some.

I'm not sure if I'm right but a radical hysterectomy is the one where they take your uterus out right? If that's the case, my mom had that done a few years ago. It was painful but not excruciating from what she told me. It took a few weeks to heal, but a couple months to heal 100%. She had no complications. I hope that helped.

One thing is what is your age? Wht this surgical procedure? (myoma, cancer, fibroma????) One common thing after a radiacl hysterectomy is "depression" as your "body" felt the loss of your reproductive system. You may have to be on hormone therapy. This was published earlier! Best wishes!!
